The TSYS Future Scholars Scholarship Program, established in 2008, represents our company's commitment to supporting higher education through college and vocational institution scholarships for the children of Global Payments family team members. In the first 10 years of the TSYS Future Scholars Scholarship, more than $1 million in scholarship awards were given to students of team members thanks to years of individual gifts, division and department fundraisers as well as corporate-sponsored activities! 

Since 2008, the TSYS Future Scholars Foundation has awarded more than 650 scholarships totaling $1,309,750 in scholarships.

Designed to reward the well-rounded student who strives for high academic achievement, devotes time to worthwhile extracurricular activities, and is involved in meaningful community service. A panel of external judges comprised of educators and business leaders are selected annually to review applications and make recommendations for scholarship awards to the TSYS Future Scholars Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees. 

The student receiving the highest cumulative score from judges will be named the Richard W. Ussery Scholar. This honor is named for Richard W. Ussery, retired TSYS chairman of the Board and CEO who was the first Scholarship Board Chairman and one of the scholarship program’s leading advocates. Scholarship amounts vary and may be applied toward a bachelor’s (four year) degree or an associate (two year) degree at an accredited college, university or vocational institution located within the United States.
